How can I change the network name of my Wi-Fi Homeplug?

How can I change the network name of my Wi-Fi Homeplug?

You need to log in to the settings menu of your Wi-Fi Homeplug. To do this, follow these steps:

Make sure that your wireless device is connected to your Wi-Fi Homeplug.

You can only log in to the settings menu if your device (such as your tablet, smartphone, laptop etc) is connected to your Wi-Fi Homeplug. You can check this first of all by opening the list of wireless networks. Look for the network name of your Wi-Fi Homeplug.

Windows

If you have found the network name of your Wi-Fi Homeplug, does the word Connected appear alongside? If so, a connection has already been established. Please see the screenshot below.

Apple (Mac OS)

If you have found the network name of your Wi-Fi Homeplug, is there a tick (V) next to it? If so, a connection has already been established. Please see the screenshot below.

Is no connection present? In that case, double click on the network name of your Wi-Fi Homeplug. A connection will then be set up (this is the case on Windows and Apple devices). You will then be asked for a network password. The password is the WPA2 code, which can also be found on the Info Flyer and the back label of your Wi-Fi Homeplug.

Enter it here and a connection will then be established. Important: have you already changed the WPA2 code? If so, you will need to enter the code that you changed it to, in order to establish a connection.

Windows

Enter the WPA2 code to establish a connection.

Important: In some cases, a PIN code may be requested while setting up a connection (see screenshot below). If so, click on the link Connect using a security key instead (marked in red in the screenshot below).

Apple

Enter the WPA2 code to establish a connection.

When connecting an Apple device, you will never be asked to provide a PIN code.

Log in to the settings menu of your Wi-Fi Homeplug.

Open your internet browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) and enter the following address: http://sitecom.plug.

A log-in screen will now be displayed. Enter the following information:

•    Username: admin (in lower-case letters).
•    Password: the WPA2 code (as printed on the back label and the Info Flyer).

Important: if you previously changed the log-in password, enter the password that you created.

The settings menu will now open, on the Home tab.

Then go to the Basic settings tab.

The current network name of your Wi-Fi Homeplug can be found in the MAIN ESSID field. You can change this by entering a name of your choice.

Enter a network name, and click on Apply. The new network name will now be saved. As your new network name will affect your network set-up, you will then see a message stating that your device is no longer connected to the network. Please see the screenshot below.

Don't worry, this is completely normal. You can now close the settings menu.

Now look for the new network name you created earlier and reconnect to it.

Open your list of wireless networks. The new network name you created earlier will now appear in the list. If it does not appear, click on the Refresh button. Please see the screenshot below.

You can now establish a connection by double clicking on the network name concerned. You will once again be asked for a network password. This will be the WPA2 code (unless you have changed it). Enter the password to create a connection using your Homeplug.

Done! You finished all the steps!
